So you found us. Good. That probably means you're carrying more than it looks like from the outside — and you're still here, still showing up, still somehow functional. That's the whole club. That's the only membership requirement.
We're not a recovery blog. We're not going to tell you to quit anything, cut back on anything, or feel bad about anything. We're the gallon-a-weekend drinker who's at the standup Monday, on time, prepared. We're the guy who does his best work after a bowl. We're the person who could barely brush their teeth this morning and still shipped a project worth a quarter million dollars by five.
We're also the gambler who could put the mortgage on black and not feel bad about it — but doesn't. Not because the impulse isn't there. It's there. We just set the ceiling anyway and pay the bills.
We've racked up the credit cards. We've had the grippy sock vacay. We're not hiding any of that, and we're not going to dress it up as a redemption arc either. It's just what happened on the way to still being here.
Here's the deal: we don't judge, and we don't cheerlead. We're not going to tell you you're doing great, and we're not going to tell you to stop. What we will do is hand you better information — that's what AlkieTrak, Resin, and (just for the fun of it) Wired are for. Know your numbers. Know your window. Don't get blindsided. Be informed, not managed.
If it ever gets heavier than fun — heavier than a square peg finding its own round-enough hole — there's a door for that too, somewhere quieter than this post. No pressure to walk through it. It's just there, same as the fire extinguisher by the exit.
Anyway. Welcome. Glad you're still here.
